Wedding Vows...
We have two wedding anniversaries to remember. Our civil wedding was October 13, 2003 while our church wedding was June 2, 2007. Both are important to me for obvious personal reasons. Last month, three of my friends got married, kristin,george and kim. If you're wondering why i am writing this one it's because i come across this article which is a guide on how to write your wedding vows.
I am not ashamed to say that we didn't spend time mulling about our wedding vows. Truth be known, and with the trials that we went through and still does, it would be truly difficult to stick to our vows. So we just sort of go through the traditional church scripted vows.
In hindsight though, i would probably offer a prayer for my marriage: To ask God to help us to be good partners of each others and parents of our children. To always remember the love that brought as together despite the trials. And to stick it out...

My girl is turning 5
Do you know that July 2 is the midpoint of a common year? I got this from Wikipedia. This is because there are 182 days before and 182 days after in a 365-day year. The exact time in the middle of the year is at 12:00 noon. It falls on the same day of the week as New Year's day in common years. In a leap year, July 2 is the 184th day of the year. In July 2, 1977, Vermont becomes the first american territory to abolish slavery. A bit heavy to digest huh? I had to mention that because the abolition of slavery to me is a giant step for equality and democracy in humankind. In July 2,1929 Imelda Marcos was born. And in July 2, 2004 AJ was born. 
I can still remember the time when I knew that I was pregnant with her. I had the most painful of stomach cramps in the middle of the day. I went to the only Ob-gyne available in Iligan because the rest of her colleague were attending the convention. That is how I met the good Dr. Haydee Cabildo. She is a Manileña who migrated to Iligan because of her husband who is an Iliganon. She was part of the medical team who helped birthed Ryan Christian, son of Gov. Vilma Santos and Neda Director Ralph Recto. I digress..
I had a normal pregnancy with her. I underwent the normal activities of a pregnant woman, exercise, vitamins and healthy diet. My water broke and I didn't feel any labor pains. It was only when I was induced by Dr. Haydee did i feel the pain. I was loud and noisy during labor. Looking back, all the things that I've read about first time pregnancy didn't really register. All i felt was the pain and how difficult it seemed to me to push my baby out. I'm ashamed to say that I even defecated(sanitized term he he) inside the delivery room in another round of pushing. Ha ha now the world knows!

Really, i had a vaginal delivery but it was far from normal because forceps was used to pull AJ's head. Doc said that my uterus is lazy contracting that is why Aj is slow going down through the birth canal. When she's finally out she had bruises running from one side of her head passing through her left eye. It was two weeks later that we noticed that her eyelid doesn't open as wide as her right does. She was diagnosed with Ptosis but the cause was never determined if it was genetics or it was due to mechanical trauma. Thank God, she's still ok and that is most important. 
So now, I have been thinking of what to give her on her birthday. Just like any other child, she likes ice cream.
She also like the playground at the SM Mall of Asia seaside. Her favorite acts are those of the Pantomime artists performing nightly at Aling Marshya's restaurant at San Miguel By the Bay, MOA.

But we'll probably just celebrate the occasion quitely at her favorite restaurant, mc donalds. That's all it really takes to make her happy, food, cartoons and the family going on roadtrips.

Nostalgia
Nostalgia it is said is about longing about the things of the past, remembering only the good times. Looking through old photos, i can't help but feel nostalgic about things and places of the past. Browsing through my latest photos during a trip back to Bohol, once again I was kept reminded of the place where I was born and where we, as a often family go back to in times of fiesta of my father's hometown, Lila. Back then, whenever we got home no matter how dark it already is, neighbors, relatives converge at our ancestral house eager to welcome us, share whatever it is that we brought from Mindanao, even when it consists only of a loaf of bread, and several manos of "tabako."
This one is recent, taken at the airport while the blind entertainers were rendering us beautiful songs. The youngest of the three have the voice of a pop star, and his choices also were surprisingly current.
This following photos are the sceneries that you will pass by when you travel from Lila to Tagbilaran. The sky seem overcast it's really about 5 o'clock in the morning when we left Taug. Initially, i thought of spending the night in Tagbilaran so that it will be easier for us to go to the airport but Ng Delma offered to use her car to bring us to the airport early. That is how generous and kind and how good a bol-anon spirit is. Most of my relatives are like that, I am proud to say. Really...

Cozy Resort, Rosales, Pangasinan
Hubby decided to spend the weekend at Rosales, Pangasinan in part to accompany his uncle who is to be a principal sponsor at a friend's wedding. 
We left manila around past 10Pm and traversed the rainy SCTEX around past 1am. We checked in at Cozy Resort in Pangasinan. The room we had was big and clean for 2,500 a night, it should be it's the suite room. It had simple furnishings, and a really strong airconditioning unit but the television set is not working and there was no refrigerator. 
The resort itself is situated in a ricefield so the only water facility available to entertained guests is the two swimming pools. My daughters really enjoyed the pool. But then it is easy to please them, anywhere with a body of water where they can dip is enough for them.

Breakfast consisted of daing na bangus, spam, eggs which costs 95 pesos along with coffee and or milo. I never did like salty foods but neither do i like bland foods. The breakfast was just bland. And their were flies on our breakfast table. Maybe they could have put something to deter the flies considering the place was really clean. 
Over all, i think this is a good enough place to stay. We have only been to Pangasinan only one time and we stayed at Urdaneta Garden Resort. I would recommend that you stay here if you have business to do in Rosales or you just want somewhere else to sleep. Otherwise, if you want rest and relaxation and something more, like good food and really excellent service(like the guard being onhand to open the gate of the resort and we didn't have to honk twice, or that the tables are set for breakfast and waiters readily available and no flies please!, or that toiletries are already in the rooms without having to call room service) maybe there is a better place elsehere.
