Health is wealth

Yesterday, I was so stressed-out because of something involving a family member. Infact, it started saturday evening and although i have managed not to think about it overnight, i must have carried it in my subconscious thus affecting my health in a bad way.  I say bad because early sunday afternoon, i had labored breathing and i felt tired.  It had been a long time since i felt like that like maybe 2007,2008 when i was diagnosed that i had mitral valve prolapse.  It was a scary time in my life since i really thought that i am close to dying and leaving my kids mommy-less.  It would be mightly unusual for a month for me without a visit to my cardiologist.  I remember also that i had daily monitoring of my blood pressure and heart rate.  I was so stressed with my condition in fact that i had hormonal imbalance and headaches from one of the medicines i was prescribed with.

And i felt it again. And somehow, faced with that kind of situation i realized that the things i wanted recently no longer mattered as much as my concern to be fully healthy now.  It brings to mind my resolve not to be overwhelm by stressors left and right.  I have to re-adjust my perspective again, to value health and to take steps to live a healthier mind and body.

A Relaxing Evening

Last week, i told hubby that i wanted to have a body massage probably at the ground floor of Cityland-Shaw tower. I just felt so tired and I wanted to relax. He said that we will just go together at Wensha. I've heard and read only good things about Wensha so I was really excited. Saturday came, we were so busy the whole day because we scoured Manila particularly Paco and Pier 15 for japanese surplus aircons and other things needed at the house.

Anyway, i thought he already forgot about his promise of us having a massage together because it was already evening plus it was raining. I would not blame him if our massage appointment will not push through because we were really so busy. But he did not forget(thanks Dy!) and we had our massage only it was not at Wensha but at Asian Massage in Malate.

We went there half-past nine pm and we had our massage at exactly 10pm. They allow couples to have a massage together so that's one thing I like about the place. The ambience was really relaxing except for the occasional conversation of our therapists. They are open 24-hours and even do home service. Except for us, most of their clients that time were foreigners. I forgot to ask about the oil they used but I also liked the scent. What I didn't like was i can occasionally feel the nails of my therapist on my skin. Apart from that, I would say Asian Massage is a good place to go to for your spa needs. Clean and the rates are i think reasonable. Hubby slept during the massage and i'm glad because I know how stressed he is although he does not say anything about it like i do. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

Since i felt hungry, we stopped by for some take-out at Mc Donalds. We went home around midnight and the kids were already asleep. Hubby slept immediately while i wrote yet one article. That is one productive and relaxing saturday...

free kids camp and cheap back massage

I have been feeling a lot of stress these past several days. I can actually feel it in my neck, back, feet and fingers. TOday, together with my daughters, yaya and sister, we took a jeepney ride to Pasig market and back looking out for a suitable apartment with a nearby school and only 1 ride to my workplace. We went out of the condo around past 11 am and so it was hot, and dusty even with our umbrellas in tow. We couldn't decide where to get off and my sister suggested maybe we should just take a look at those in mabini where she has a boardinghouse. And so we alight at shangrila mall, and at the 5th level, we took tickets for the mrt towards edsa station, get off and took the lrt again towards taft. Let me tell you though, that a man gave up his seat for me upon seeing that i was carrying abby. Not only that, another man also stood up to give us some more room for yaya to seat. And an old man stood up to give his seat to a girl. Yes, there are lots of gentlemen around and it's not true that they are a dying breed.
We had a late lunch at Mc donalds, taft then took a hike towards robinson's ermita entering by way of Pedro Gil wing. We spent so much time at the kids camp sponsored by purefoods chicken nuggets, growee, jelly ace and the madagascar movie. Everybody just keep on going to the purefoods booth if the tray for the free chicken nuggets have been refilled. There were lots of chicken nuggets free , sandwiches, coloring papers and water colors for kids and kids-at heart. There were penguin mascots on the stage to entertain one and all. Since aj felt urinating, we went to the 2nd floor where the foodcourt was and it was there that we saw Mendea ad about back massage for P20 for 10 minutes. Since we were just sitting there and it's only 10 minutes anyway and we can spare 20 pesos, why not give it a try. I am telling you, those by far, are the most relaxing 10 minutes and for 20 pesos. The attendant knew the muscles to knead and the points to push. If only they have that for feet and hands. They would probably , if you tell them. So if you ever get the chance to go to RObinson's ermita, check out Mendez' 10-minute back massage, i'm sure you will really like it. maybe, they offer it in their other branches, i sure hope so.
